Swimming Lessons Provided for Children with Autism
Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality is providing swimming lessons for autistic children.
The Autism Sports Training Centre, operating under the Department of Youth and Sports Services, is offering programmes for 36 registered autistic students, covering basic sports skills, cardiovascular fitness and sensory integration training.
For the younger age group, 12 autistic students attend swimming courses once a week at the Seyrantepe TOKİ Outdoor Swimming Pool. The sessions, delivered by specialist trainers, form part of sensory integration and hydrotherapy activities.
The swimming lessons give autistic children the chance to spend enjoyable time with their peers.
