Co-Mayor of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality, Serra Bucak, met with Dr Hussam Shakhshir, Mayor of Nablus, Palestine, and Hamza Al Zghoul, Mayor of Ajloun Metropolitan Municipality, Jordan, who were attending the UCLG-MEWA meeting.

The Joint Meeting of the Executive Board and Council of the United Cities and Local Governments Middle East and West Asia Regional Organisation (UCLG-MEWA), hosted by the Metropolitan Municipality, continues on its second day. During the sessions, Co-Mayor Serra Bucak held meetings with mayors and delegations.

Co-Mayor Bucak met with Dr Hussam Shakhshir, Mayor of Nablus, Palestine, and Hamza Al Zghoul, Mayor of Ajloun Metropolitan Municipality, Jordan. UCLG-MEWA Secretary General Mehmet Duman, Metropolitan Municipality Chief Executive Emrullah Gördük, and Deputy Chief Executive Zerin Türk were also present at the meeting.

At the meeting, which addressed developments in the region, cooperation between municipalities and possible joint initiatives were discussed. The mayors also explained the functioning of central governments and local administrations in Palestine and Jordan.
