Serra Bucak, Co-Mayor of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality, hosted a delegation made up of senior representatives from two of Germany’s leading trade unions, ver.di and GEW.

A delegation comprising executives from the Germany’s Education and Science Workers’ Union (GEW) and the United Services Union (ver.di) paid a visit to Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality. The delegation, which included Claudia Schiffmann, Patrick von Brandt, Barbara Nägele, Martin Pottel, Karlo Räcke, Senem Gülen-Räcke, Hilde Schäper, Anne Gerdrun, Volker Nüsse, Svenja Ketelsen, Klaus Becker and Andrea Keiz, was received by Co-Mayor Serra Bucak. After the welcome, Bucak held a meeting with the delegation members.

During the meeting, Co-Mayor Bucak spoke about Diyarbakır’s historic sites inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, the city’s tourism potential, and the work being carried out by the Metropolitan Municipality.

Expressing her pleasure at the visit, Co-Mayor Bucak thanked the trade union representatives.

It was also stated that the delegation would visit cultural heritage sites in Diyarbakır.
